about
'Slow Emotion' was co-written by Martha Johnson and Mark Gane of Martha and the Muffins, and musician/songwriter Fabio Dwyer. Both Martha and Fabio have Parkinson's Disease. The idea for the song was first suggested by their neurologist, Dr. Alfonso Fasano, as a means to raise awareness of the disease and to show that life and creativity doesn't end with a diagnosis.
lyrics
I’m waiting for the sun to rise
So I can see that look in your eyes
Empathy not sympathy
That’s where we want to be
Take it slow, then you’ll know
How to be kind
How to free your mind
That’s where we want to be
I’m moving in slow emotion now…
I’m like a wave on the ocean
Perpetual motion
But what’s the rush?
Forget the crush of it all
The sound the pounding in my ears
Erase my fears
No rain steam or speed
That’s where we want to be
I’m moving in slow emotion now…
